Hello... I'm so GLAD that you've found my blog!  This is a new venture for me, as I've never had a blog before.  I've developed a few webpages but never a blog.  Please bear with any of the growing pains this little blog may go through as I learn to blog better.

Soon I'll  be posting many beautiful jewelry designs which I've created with you and your well being in mind.

Did you know that since mankind began peoples of all cultures have been using genuine gemstones for treating illnesses?  Together we'll discover the possibilities of a healthier, happier life through the use of colorful and soothing natural gemstones.

Initially, I was a complete skeptic of the healing possibilities of Gemstones...after all, how could a "rock" alleviate my chronic pain or affect my mood!?

It all began one day while on holiday and waiting for a ferry. I had suffered from arthritic pain for 10 years.  The doctor had prescribed me just about every kind of arthritis medication, all at a large cost and with extremely horrible side effects. My daughter and her husband went over to check out the vendor tents beside the ferry terminal to pass the time. I would've loved to go with them but the pain of traveling for the past few days was wearing on me so I was forced to just sit and rest while they went and looked around.

Miranda, my daughter, came back with a simple black stone bracelet saying the lady at the tent swore that it would help with my arthritic pain. I remember thinking that at least it was a nice, simple bracelet and that the smooth stones looked nice on my wrist,  never believing for a second that it would help with my pain which was relentless.

I told her thanks, thinking about how sweet she was trying to help control my pain  but also.hoping she didn't pay too much for the bracelet.  😊  Plus, the lady had been so busy telling her how amazing these stones were that Miranda hadn't noticed that the ferry was loading! The PA system in the terminal parking lot was blasting out our rental car description, telling the occupants to return to the car, as I sheepishly waved cars around us until there were no cars left but us!

They came running back just as the ferry was pulling out of the berth! Lol

So while they went to grab some snacks for the two-how wait until the next departure I put the smooth stone bracelet on and continued to read my magazine.

Within about 20 minutes I realized that my right arm, where I was wearing the bracelet, wasn't hurting so much from just holding the magazine up. The pain seemed to.end at the shoulder area. By the time we were on the next ferry I suddenly realized that the entire right side of my body wasn't aching as much as it usually did, making it easier to walk around the ship. By the time we arrived back at the hotel I excitedly told my daughter that I could clearly feel the pain relief and that the bracelet was the only thing I could attribute it to as I hadn't taken any pain killers or arthritis meds.

I couldn't believe it! I had talked with several people who swore by these almost magical black I but had thought it was a placebo effect or that they were like countless others just trying to sell me something to get my hopes up. I was a severe critic of "miracle cures" as I'd seen so many friends get taken in on the promise of pain relief.  I had at tried at least a dozen different types of arthritis medications at a HUGE cost to my wallet and my body due to adverse side effects. This one beautiful bracelet had done more in a few hours to alleviate my pain than 10 years of doctors appointments! Wow!

Now I always wear 2 bracelets and a choker-style necklace - I never take them off. If I do change them out for other jewelry I can feel their absence by my pain levels. This wonderful natural stone is called HEMATITE, which I believe in my grandmother's day was also called Black Alaskan Diamond. It absolutely must be magnetic though as there is also a non-magnetic Hematite on the market which didn't help me in any way.

I've experimented combining it with other therapeutic stones to make the jewelry more appealing and that works as long as you have at least half of the stones magnetic Hematite. Although, with their smooth black color they do go with everything on their own too - just like the Little Black Dress of the jewelry world! However it's always nice to switch in some color on occasion!  Soothing golden brown Tiger's Eye is a wonderful combination, as is the beautiful soft blues of Amazonite,  while adding in any kind of Quartz (clear, smokey, rutillated, etc) helps to amplify the healing powers of the other stones.

I've found the beautiful jewelry I create and wear does so much to improve my health and mood whether it's from the healing properties themselves or from the lovely color therapy of the stones. Either way, I feel so much healthier, stronger, and not so limited by chronic pain when I'm wearing them.
